Here to ridicule these so called mechanics that dont take out their Thermostat LOL I every time when i get a car always 2nd hand with at least 150000 ks on the clock as Im poor :( So this is more the reason to nervously get the new car home ASAP 1 carefully remove the cancerous hose busting dangerous eye burning water boiling unnecessary pressure thermostat 2 draw line on ground 3 TOSS the damned thing as far as i can 4 find it again 5 STOMP ON IT swearing at it saying you will never annoy anybody again !!! LOL HERES REASONS WHY I REMOVE IT !!! 1 keeps temp down 2 water flows beautifully 3 no burn eyes out pressure on hoses radiator water pump gaskets ect ect 4 my oil lasts 20000 ks easily 5 oil stays gold keeps texture and viscocity as when oil cooks at chook cooking temps it goes carbon colour black 6 water pump isnt stressed pushing against ugly pressures 7 car wont overheat 8 metals warp with extreme heats motors are run at 9 gaskets hoses dont burst 10 engine long life ect ect these 10 only mentioned reasons and i have more PROS BTW I run my car warm not cold nor chook cooking temps 95% of mechanics run their cars at !! But these temps are mostly the reasons why cars break down maybe where polar bears live thermos are needed but lets face it most of the planet is now hot greenhouse like ,thermos 30% to blame for fiasco as in oil waste unnecessary heat ect ect ect ect ... I also make sure the choke and idling is down and fuel air mix is correct , meaning car computer doesnt assume car is cold and WHALA you will get more mileage than an diesel out of your petrol engine !!! I bet hero mechanic will try say im incorrect but I dont know or can afford a silly little mechanic and my car PURS LOL THERMOSTATS SUCK !!! LOL

90

BTW Ive done the take out therostat trick since I was 18 yrs old to an Falcon xa and im now 50 and still do the same trick to new model cars ,latest is my Jeep 2005 v6 petrol, Ive driven many cars all these years and never OVERHEATED any car with no thermo EVER !!! oil lasts ages many many advantages as no hoses blowing radiators gaskets ect ect water pumps call me dad ,as water pumps turning and pushing H2O under unnecessary pressure suffer LOL my coolant and especially Oil last ages ,Pros dont stop !!! TOSS THE THERMOSTAT , MECHANICS WANT YOUR $$$ !!! LOL

90

BTW my car after washing the engine and eng bay once since i got it and quickly carefully and very nervously taking out the ugly thermostat ,its been a long time now since !! POINT IS my car doesnt remember that ugly black SOOT that mechanics and 99.9 % of thermostat sporting engines are covered in !!! LOL

90

I dont think youve read my 3 entire comments correctly !!! I dont run my car engine cold !! I RUN my car engine warm 195 degree is an ridiculous chicken cooking near boiling far too high engine temp it blackens oil within 100 kilometres this means oil loses viscosity texture full of carbon burnt near useless !! full of soot !! metal expands and contracts at them chook cooking temps !! WARM is not COLD !!! At warm temp my heater and window heater works perfect !! If you read correct thermostats maybe ok for Alaska but in most greenhouse ozone depleted countries thermostats are useless !! Ive never had any problems that you described without reading exactly what i wrote in my 3 comments^^^ ! BUT Ive seen many cars Overheat , soot covered , oil leaks from cold and hot expansion of metal in all gaskets , hoses blowing ridiculous unneeded pressures , water pumps breaking pushing h2o against ridiculous pressure again unnecessary , radiators blowing prematurely again pressures heat ect ect , list is endless far more problems using garbage thermostats than none not using the cancerous growth !!!! AGAIN READ WARM NOT HOT !! chicken blow eyes out ridiculous boiling dangerous temperatures !!! RIDICULOUS !!!!

90

SLUDGE you mention NEVER EVER LOL !!! BUT ive seen plenty of ugly carbon coloured sticky SOOT on most gasket leaking twisted metal from heat yuk looking engines !! MY none thermostat engine you can have dinner on it !!! I could drive 5 thousand kilometres more and only stop for petrol not to cool or rest the motor NO NEED LOL!!! Whilst roadside people are OVERHEATING and I drive past Laughing yelling out ( you need an bigger thermostat EINSTEIN ) LOL THERMOSTATS ARE GARBAGE AND IF YOU BELIEVE IN THEM with no Snow present youre not a good mechanic READ CAREFULLY !!! I can get more kilometres out of an petrol engine no thermostat than any diesel motor !!!! EASY Ive done it !!!!! did you read petrol air mixture ! choke used from cold to warm only !!! not 195 lava chicken cooking temperatures my oil lasts golden 20000 i change it for fun not necessity READ !!!!

Tuners and racers make this mistake all the time, thinking removing a thermostat improves an engines ability to cool itself. Cooling is determined by radiator size, air flow through radiator, and coolant flow. Coolant is cooled when it is in the radiator. EXCESS coolant flow, as caused by removing a thermostat, can limit the time coolant spends in the radiator cooling down. With excess flow It can reenter the engine at a high temp. Racers using high performance electric water pumps and hicapacity radiators have learned NOT to increase coolant flow to the point it can't remain in the radiator long enough to cool down, they even make restrictor plates for engines to slow coolant passage. For a non racing engine, you gain nothing by removing a properly working thermostat, you only remove the engines ability to warm up properly. When an engine first fires up it's in "open loop" mode, ignoring certain sensor inputs, until the engine reaches operating temp. Removing the thermostat can leave en engine in open loop for an extended period of time, to the point it sets error codes. An engine operating below operating temp can leave bearings, rings not yet expanded from heat, that affects oil pressure and leaves them vulnerable to increase wear at every startup. You will also permit excess buildup of condensation in the engine and sludging. TL:DR; removing thermostat is boy racer nonsense. It should only be done in an emergency when you have a bad tstat and only as a temporary measure.

Bob sounds like the guy with an oversized thermostat in the so called crowd overheating roadside ,hoses blowing on him unable to remove radiator cap as water will burn his eyes out !!! LOL F-O -r sounds like the bloke who can spell but hasnt an clue or the faintest idea what an thermo is ,how it operates and or its location ,another fool paying mechanics to change his carbon colour burnt out engine oil with no viscosity nor texture after 200 kms burnt by ridiculous so called engine operating temps every 5k kms !!! BTW I wrote an near book in my 4 odd comments quickly written trying enlighten you ,listen to everything you are told by people that dont want the consumables i mentioned oil hoses radiators ect ect to last you a long time , as to take your money on frequent oil changes and breakdowns !!! Another thing is the problems mentioned by jim bob and tim never have happened to me in 32 odd years of removing ugly thermos NEVER!!!! I also have friends who own car yards they all remove thermos also many people swear by it !!! If you people like black oil and frequent 5000 oil changes ,hoses and radiators blowing , dangerous boiling water burning your eyes out , water pumps breaking down frequently , soot black ugly yuk covered motors , overheating roadside ect ect Use ansilly little thermostat and Ignore someone who has to remove them through experience and necessity over 32 years once again try read and comprehend my car Purs and they all have over the years as heat is a motors biggest enemy !!! If I broke down always then call me silly!!! But no never ever ever LOL!!!!! BTW JS08069 jim bob and tim made 3 points which them problems mentioned have never happened to me sludge ect ect and once a thermo reaches chicken cooking temp the h2o flows as if there wasnt one there so it baffles me how he wrote that water flows too quick and doesnt have time for radiator to cool it as it is flowing anyway when it near boils as thermo is open at this point in time !!! If you use common sense youd take the thermos OUT !!!

to js08016 Do you read and comprehend fully and correctly ? Yes i buy an car at 150000 ks !! DID you read the part where I nervously get it home as quick as possible to remove the cancerous thermostat change oil + filter ,flush radiator new coolant then Degrease the ugly SOOT SOOT BUT SOOOOOOT hard to remove the burnt in GUNK !!!! Also hard to write to ignorant people that dont read and disregard and ignore !!! I also wrote in my 6 odd quotes as it seems you are hard of learning and or comprehending the motor is not COLD ITS WARM!!! in BETWEEN Cold and your ridiculous chicken cooking 195 deg !! You also obviously missed the part where CHOKE IS OFF !!!and air fuel mixture is set CORRECTLY !!THUS NOT WASTING THIS IMAGINARY FUEL !!! The CAPS are used so hopefully you read all ive written in my 5 long logical above written ^^^ quotes and dont ignore my points like bob and his IGNORANCE labelling people DUMB!!!!! ,when he cant read nor comprehend correctly !! I bet my car ,he has no idea what an thermo is or what on earth we are discussing as I dont argue !! because if you choose to run your motor at ridiculous bbq temps and burning your oil black in less than 100 ks when mine stays gold to 20 odd thousand ks keeps viscosity texture ect ect and if you like overheating whilst I drive past tooting my horn and laughing at you pluss all the other 10 more things ive mentioned above ^^^ SILLY YOU !! LOL!!! IGNORANT people who dont read or cant and have trouble understanding call me dumb PFFF ,I have done this thermo trick for 32 more odd YEARS !! no boy racer im 50 years OLD LOL !!! Ive NEVER overheated blew a radiator hoses water pumps ect ect ect x 10 ects the people that listen to me and allow me to rid them of this cancerous growth thermo, take it out , They love me they start to love their car with a new attitude towards it !!! I get gifts from these people LOL !!!

A fool with diarrhea of the keyboard. If you are dumber than rocks be sure and shout it from the roof tops.

This same fool ^^^ hasnt explained nor given any ideas why its good or not good to remove an thermostat !! He only tries to join sides with the winning team as a girl would scared of an opinion LOL !!NOW I know what my Hero Cristobal Colombo BTW his actual Latin name not columbus LOL !! must of felt like when he was ridiculed for knowing World is spherical !! There is a small minority still thinking world is flat these are the Thermostat SPORTERS or USERS !!! LOL

And I thought you were a flat earther. ROFLOL I only post this thread because it is amusing. I drive the worst possible conditions. Desert, mountains, high temperatures and cold. Hauling, towing, snow plowing, high speed, stop and go and offroading and never have I had a single problem that you describe in 2 million miles of driving. Still wondering what a sporter is. Something to do with pro ball?

Talk logical like a Man dont call people girly names !!!! LOL

F-O_R ye you dont have issues because youre religiously at your mechanics every 5000 ks doing expensive services , removing that useless burnt out no viscosity nor texture left used black pepsi cola you call Engine oil LOL WHILST I keep driving for another 15000 odd kilometres and my oil still gold beautiful colour Thats difference !!!! you FOOLS go and COOK your oil black in less than 100 ks !! LOL BLOW them hoses and radiator to Smithereenes LOL Stress that poor water pump till it pushes water no more against them unnecessary pressures LOL Burn your eyes out when you open that boiling radiator broke down roadside overheating !!!
