Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2004 chevy venture van that has a code P0171(lean left bank system 10
code. i have replaced both o2 sensors and had chevy upper injection cleaner ran
through it. we cleaned the MAF sensor and cannot find any vacume leaks. We put a
fuel pressure gauge on it and it was 50lbs running and 40 when turned off. My brother
has a real nice SNAP ON scannere and it says my fuel trims are way outa wack.
really high trying to compensate for a lean mixture. Now we are being told its the fuel
pump, but before i change it i was wondering what the parameters are supposed to be
for this vehicle

Fuel pressure seems about right. Most common cause is unmetered air. Other things that could be letting air in, is Brake Booster, EGR Valve, Purge Valve, PCV Valve. This vehicle has a MAP sensor. Make sure it is reading correctly. Do fuel trims start to correct as you open throttle (if so it is most likely a vaccuum leak)
