Water in engine

Asked by GuruSL1JC May 28, 2019 at 07:23 PM about the 2005 Dodge Magnum R/T RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Ran through an enormous puddle during a flash storm.
Water got through the air filter and into the engine. Also all
of the oil is gone. Did i crack the block?

I don't know what happened but I would change the oil and start it up. I doubt you cracked the block but if you hydro locked it you could have broken a rod and put a hole in the pan. Take a look under the car before putting oil in it.

Saw a 300 Hemi at dealership and technician showed me the result of water getting I to the engine through the air intake. The rod was badly bent. As far as being out of oil, there’s obviously a big leak somewhere
