Asked by Mary Aug 29, 2015 at 09:00 PM about the 2005 Dodge Durango SLT RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

How do I find out what the gear ratio is for my 2005 Dodge Durango SLT.
The cover is Hexagon with 12 bolts with traction control there are 29 splines.
Is there somewhere on the vehicle that will give me this information.

Mopar uses the last 8 digits of your VIN to determine what type rear end you have if you have the traction button on your dash you either have a 3:55 or 3:92 ratio.. Its real simple you think Mopar would give out this information for free.. Yeah like their owners manuals are great for starting fires when you need something dry.. Now you gotta pay for information that should be available to the public..
