Need to replace a door sensor so my alarm will stop going off randomly in the middle of the night. Have done it before but can't remember what I did.

I have a 2003 Acura TL 3.2 my malfunction indicator lamp (engine) came on I did some research and found that it could be something as simple as my gas cap was loose.
