Can anyone help? My 2002jetta won't start. I changed the fuel pump. It works.I took off one spark plug wire and I didnt have a spark.ibought a pocket scanner and the code was P171

Numerous problems it could be. The code means a lean condition that the computer cannot compensate for. Things like a leaking intake manifold to an O2 sensor. I would have someone qualified to look at it.
