I'm hoping to get feedback on my 2012 Audi Q7 timing chain.

Asked by Guru9LH6P9 Sep 01, 2021 at 08:59 AM about the 2012 Audi Q7 3.0 TDI quattro Premium AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Audi has advised me that my timing chain needs to be replaced.  The cost is an approximately $ 11,000.00 plus tax that puts the cost over $ 12,000.00.  I now find out that there was a class action lawsuit against Audi for this same problem which was won.  However, my vehicle is not part of that class action.  I find this cost to replace completely ridiculous.  I have contacted Audi Canada who have advised me that this is a normal maintenance for this type of vehicle.  Has anyone ever encountered a similiar situation and what was done about it?

I do not know how many miles are on your car but you should have an independent German car shop evaluate the car and give you a price. Don't drive an Exotic car and not expect Exotic repair costs!
