Security no start

04 Ford escape won't start, used key fob to start car.
Cranked then shut off. Won't crank now

This is the vehicles anti-theft system. I did some quick research and found this on another thread ......remove positive cable from battery,place key in car and turn to the on position,then replace positive cable,turn key off then back on,should reset it,but if not you may have to have a dealer reset the antitheft for you.
