Hyundai Sonata Engine Replacement

Asked by Bob Feb 23, 2020 at 12:09 PM about the 2012 Hyundai Sonata GLS FWD

Question type: General

If the engine in my 2012 Hyundai Sonata needs to be replaced, what is the responsibility of the dealership? Do they simply replace the block and use parts from the old engine, ie belts, plugs, alternator, or are they required to use new or rebuilt parts?

Standard procedure is to transfer the accessories, like you mentioned, from the old engine to the new one. Even things like the intake and exhaust manifolds, oil pan, throttle body, and other parts are transferred as well. Hope that helps! Jim
