Question type: General

2011 Carrera S Cab and it came with a pigtail connection for an iphone which is in the center console.  This pigtail was designed to charge Iphone 4 or 5 which need less power to charge.  Now with and iphone 6 plus although the connector works with an adapter, it does not have enough power to charge the phone.  Can this be remedied by changing the fuse that feeds power to the center console connections?

Nothing wrong with the power supply at the center console. No you can not increase power from the car as the it all comes from the alternator, and supplies what the system calls for. I believe it is going to have something to do with your adapter.

Changing the fuse will not make any difference to the amount of power delivered to your phone, it would only change the amount of current needed to blow the fuse. It would be a reasonably large project to replace the charging supply in the car. It would be a whole lot easier getting a new cigarette lighter charger with at least 12 - 20W rating
