Body part interchangablility

Asked by dpluta Mar 01, 2013 at 12:31 PM about the 1998 Chrysler Cirrus 4 Dr LXi Sedan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My son smashed up the front end of his 1998 Cirrus. It needs a new hood, grill and other front end parts. Can anyone tell me if parts from the 1996 or 1997 Cirrus models are interchangeable with the 1998 model? I found a salvage yard that has parts for those years, but I have no idea if they'll fit. It appears that the only changes between models during that period were engine related. Is that true?

Thanks.

The Chrysler Cirrus, Dodge Stratus and the Plymouth Breeze were sold from 1995 to 2000. They were all built on the same JA platform and may share parts. The salvage yard should be able to cross reference the parts. Check RockAuto.com to see if other part numbers match. -- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chrysler_Cirrus#1995.E2.80.932000
