Hey my 1999 chrysler sebring (Lxi with the 2.5L v6)

Asked by GuruS1FXZ Jun 03, 2019 at 12:08 PM about the 1999 Chrysler Sebring JXi Convertible FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

i just bought a 99 sebring on saturday for cheap but it has a messed up trans.
i drove it home halfway in 3rd gear until it finally quit and wont go into gear
anymore and just grinds and makes noise. later that day it decided to find
reverse again and jerk but move around fine. the fluid is dark and smells
burnt. is this a simple sensor or solenoid fix? or is the trans completely done?
