Did it backfire out the intake or exhaust? May have to check valves and valve timing? Check cylinder compression. Make sure battery has a full charge. If cranking rpms sound faster than normal, definitely check compression. You have proper fuel pressure--spark at the plugs--fuel injector pulse?
