Service elec brake system
I have just purchased an 06 Grand Cherokee from a main dealer. This
warning text came up, along with the engine management light and the
traction control light, so I took it back to the dealer, they hooked it up to their
computers and they told me that it needed new glowplugs, which they duly
fitted for free and sent me home with it yesterday morning. Last night the
same warning message and lights came on. I will be contacting them again,
but is this going to keep happening? If a main dealer can not sort out the
problem, then who can?
Dealers sell cars, not for fun, but to make money. They'll put up with customers until it's not profitable any more. That's where help for you ends. If this is a USED car dealer, your future looks grim. If this is a NEW car dealer, you have more protection: the dealer, and then corporate..... Recommend you go to an independent Jeep mechanic for a diagnosis of your problems. The electric brake system goes along with traction control. And this might have illuminated the engine management light as well; but this might be something else. Take this mechanics report to the dealer and have these things fixed and have them pay for the report that you had to get. Buying used cars is a dice roll with any dealer. Whenever you buy any used car, have it reviewed by an independent mechanic before purchase; even if it's from a dealer with a warranty. This is your best protection.
You had glo plugs put in an 06 Grand Cherokee???
What's wrong with that?
I'd assume it's a Diesel. If not, don't laugh here, it was a mistake.
