Have you bought gas at a different station? Could be bad gas

just guessing I'm going to say check the operation of the EGR...the vacuum operated device for a diaphragm that doesn't leak and a vacuum that is correct for the conditions (upon decel...and to bring down combustion temp)...so check the operation and clean the EGR valve with brake cleaner to insure correct operation of it~

...another possibility is a defective fuel pressure regulator...check THIS one for leakage at the diaphragm and vacuum hose that isn't split or cracked or swollen...replace all vacuum lines with silicone for maximum reliability~,,,,honestly have my doubts about Techron...cleans everything including the meat that the regulator diaphragm is made of~

Yes I had all the filters changed today when I had the oil changed. It's like the turbo is not kicking in.

the fuel pressure regulator should be looked at~ http://www.partsgeek.com/mmparts/fuel_pressure_regulator/kia/optima.html

My 2011 Kia Optima was doing the same thing and when I took it to the dealership they did an adjustment in the computer setting for my fuel injection. Anyway, it is no longer having the problem, although it did cost me a loss of about 2 - 4 mpg.

My 2011 kia optima has a reoccurring wastegate problem. 1st time kia cleaned it, 2nd time $350 part replace. One year later its acting up again. No boost. No power. Could be that the car gets carbon due to short drive to work.

I have had the wastegate actuator replaced on my 2011 kia sportage sx replaced twice now for this issue. Once around 40k miles and again at 87k miles. The first time it as covered under warranty, the second they charged me $380 for the part and $360 in labor.

What makes the 2012 kia optima 2.4 l4 car gets gas one moment and several moments later stops getting gas.

Check your brake rubber stopper plug on your brake pedal.. if it is broken or worn, you will be driving with your brake lights on. The computer then thinks your slowing down and therefore the ABS system kicks in and not allowing you to accelerate. Replace the rubber grommet brake stopper on the brake pedal and all will be fixed.... good luck.

Its the waste gate actuator. Same thing happened to me. Code calls for a replacement. I just restart the engine and the turbo kicks in. Have to replace it soon.
