Chrysler Sebring Overheating

My daughter has an '04 Chrysler Sebring 4-cylinder with 123k miles.  We've had it in the shop several times after it's overheated.  It only overheats when on the highway for 15+ minutes at 60-70 mph.  Doesn't overheat while driving around town.  Coolant level is OK, the thermostat and radiator have been replaced but the problem persists.  The radiator was thought to be plugged but a leak was discovered.  Now we're wondering about a cracked head or head gasket.  There's no coolant in the oil and no coolant on the driveway.  The fan blows cold air, not hot.  What might it cost to replace a cracked hear or head gasket?  Any thoughts??

Sounds like head gasket issue. Get an exhaust gas test kit from your local auto parts and test the coolant in radiator for exhaust gasses. If there is any in there it's probably the head gasket. Cracked heads tend to always leak but have seen some head gaskets only leak under a highway driving condition. The test is fairly cheap. Do it yourself then if it's a bad gasket have a couple local shops to quote you a repair price. Prices tend to vary by location.
