Horn Fuse question

Asked by 2012civicowner Aug 22, 2016 at 11:05 AM about the 2012 Honda Civic LX

Question type: Car Customization

I am trying to replace the wimpy 2012 Honda Civic horn with your recommended Wolo horn. The Wolo requires a 15 Amp fuse, 10 amp is stock. Owners manual frowns on changing amperage. Extra fuses in fuse box. Can I change to 15 amp without risk of damage? Thanks in advance.

Yeah you don't want to switch to higher amp fuse in an existing circuit as you can overheat the wires. You can always add a new circuit with an "add-a-circuit" kit from any parts store. Just use one of your open 15A spots on the fuse box. If you don't have any open slots, you can either "add-a-fuse-box" (another kit) or run your wiring to the battery with a good in-line fuse.
