At some point the battery will have to be replaced! (To do so, the old one is removed to be replaced by a new one, right?.) Just "act like" you are replacing the battery by disconnecting one of the battery cables (normally the positive side) for at least 60 seconds and then simply re-install that cable. RESET DONE.
