The socket did not look corroded at all and the other two bulbs in the socket holder work fine. Ordered a replacement socket holder off Ebay. It was pretty cheap and hopefully works so I don't have to track down wiring issues.
Put in the socket holder I got off ebay. Still doesn't work. Hard to believe that one has the same issue. The visible wiring and connector look good.
