All four cylinder Honda engines are interference engines.

every Honda Fit engine has a timing chain that's designed to last the life of the engine. It is an interference engine, so if that chain should ever let go, you'll have a mess on your hands,. but that's not likely to happen. Problems with timing chains are usually limited to defects in tensioners and guides. So if you have a chain problem, just buy a kit and replace all components: not a big job on your tiny car.
