Overheating

Asked by Shelly Apr 23, 2019 at 04:07 PM about the 2011 Volkswagen Routan SE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2011 Volkswagen routan is overheating. I've
replaced the thermostat twice, replaced the
heater hose assembly, and the temperature
sensor. The radiator has been flushed and new
coolant added to it. It overheats going down the
road and it also overheats when idling. I'm not
sure what else I need to do. I have to replace
water every time we stop. Has anyone else had
this problem?

We had to replace the engine. It had an internal coolant leak. The engine was blown.
