With today's advanced electronics, any time you try to replace an engine, you can have serious complications. The mechanics if installing a different engine start with 'will it bolt into the car' (motor mounts). Will the transmission mate to the new motor, if not a new trans will be required. If you get past all that, then you have exhaust and emissions systems to deal with. Then, how will you get the new engine (and computer) to properly communicate with the dash board. Bottom line is: There are brilliant people capable of making it work. How much time, effort and $$ are you willing to spend on an engineering project?
