Electronic door lock/release

Asked by Drew_in_the_Desert Jun 21, 2021 at 03:28 PM about the 2011 Ford F-150 XLT SuperCab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

After one of the darling children in my neighborhood tried to break into my
Ford F150, I had to replace the driver's side exterior door handle.  All went
well, except that if I use the electronic door lock/unlock, it somehow prevents
to door handle from opening the door from the outside.  Before using the
electronic lock/unlock, the door handle worked perfectly.  Does anyone have
any suggestions on a fix?  Much appreciated!

I would double check your work. You may have hooked up something incorrectly.

Check the plastic clip which attaches a rod to another rod which opens the door. It is made so adjustments can be made by engaging the plastic teeth at various intervals at the tip of the rod where it meets the other rod. At least that is how my 2010 works.
