I just purchased 2011 Tacoma 4dr 4wd I made 2
new keys, Menards, they open doors, ignition turns
over, but engine won't start. I don't see a chip on
key. Do I need Toyota Keys, and why.

Indeed, they have chips. The original key is just glued with the chip insied, this is why you can't see it. BMW has it the same I think, and more brands also.
