05 ford ranger stalling when driving

my 05 ford ranger stalled on the highway when driving the wont restart
sometimes. if you wait for about 1 to 2 hours it will start sometimes

Its most likely the ignition module being too susceptible to heat. A long stretch of Ford model years are notorious for this. Check it out under Ford Ignition Control Module. A quick and dirty test on a running engine is to use a hair dryer on the module while parked at home in your driveway. Or if away from home apply a bag of ice to the module as soon as the car dies.
