Headlights turn on when car is left overnight

Please help! Over the past few weeks, my car's headlights will turn on by themselves
and when I open the door, the car's notification panel is lit up and there's the beeping
sound as if my keys are left in the ignition. It only happens when it's been sitting
overnight and my car's battery has died because of it. FYI: my car has the running
daylights when I'm driving.

I've taken it to a mechanic, who is stumped - he ran the computer test, which came
back fine. I don't want to rack up any more charges, so any ideas would be great!

Commonly lighting issues is linked to the light switch for your head lights. But im willing to bet you have a short or defective ignition unit. Try unplugging the cars battery for about 15 - 30 minutes for a complete system reboot and see if it helps. If not try pulling out your head light controls and unplugging it for the night and see if it still does it. Also to completly drain the computer of power take both battery terminals off and touch them togeather. This should insure your computer for sure has a full proper reboot.

Did you ever figure the problem out? I have a 2011 Volkswagen Jetta and I’m dealing with this my headlights randomly pop on and it sounds like my keys are in ignition but nothings left on and it keeps draining my battery
