2001 Cadillac Eldorado Air Bag Light won't shut off
This started after front seats were removed and recovered were is wire
connection at seat or under carpet had new carpet put in at same time does
not show up on scan of codes nothing shows up like not there was told
disconnected under seat any help were it would be thanks
It is a good assumption that the problem is under the seat since it was taken out. Just have to look for it by checking the wires, making sure everything is plugged back in, make sure no wires were pulled during removal and installation of the seat causing a broken wire.
You'll need a scan tool that can communicate with the airbag (SRS) computer to find out what's going on. I'm thinking when the seats were recovered they didn't put the weight sensor or side impact airbag module, if equipped, back in. HTH. -Jim
Scan tool doesn't show anything and dealer trying to sell me module but same dealer told me before to take back were seats were done they said everything was plugged in I guess the best thing is to loosen seats look under to see what wires are there they must of miss something dealer says modules they don't make anymore Chevy dealer
Royaloakschevy.com has factory diagrams of your front seats on their website. The Chevy Dealer you went to is telling you the truth. Nothing is available through GM unless a dealer happens to have it sitting in inventory collecting dust. Royal Oaks Chevy sells obsolete inventory until supplies are exhausted. Looking at the diagrams there's at least 200 parts to each seat! Does your seat heater still work? That's part of it too! You might be better off getting decent seats from a junkyard and scavenging the parts you need that way. HTH. -Jim
