Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hello all
I am recharging the AC on my Milan and was hoping someone can tell me
where the compressor is located so I can look to see if it is running when
reading the gauge.
Thanks!

Look at the accessories on the serpentine belt. It is driven by the crankshaft pulley. There will be an alternator, a power steering pump, an idler pulley and maybe a water pump along with the A/C compressor. You might be able to hear it clicking on/off, that's the compressor. When the compressor clicks "on", the high side guage will rise as pressure increases.

Thanks for the fast response! I'm not sure what any of those parts look like or where they're located, could you share a picture or diagram so I know what I'm looking for? Thanks again

With the engine idling, look for the accessory that has a center hub that is not turning 100% of the time. That's the compressor that "clicks" on/off. Be careful around those rotating parts. A/C compressors also have two silvery aluminum refrigeration lines/tubes attached. These lines can be seen running back toward the firewall or heater box area.
