Is it possible for the valve covers to bend not the gaskets the actual covers

I'm asking because i simply did a gasket
change on the valve covers and the
mechanic is telling me that the covers are
not even he put a ruler in one of the sides
and it wasn't flat the whole way now i think
that he is not experience ed in BMW can
you guys give me some input on the valve
covers for this car.

The ones that my car have are plastic and we are talking about like 3 mm. Space can i just put silicone on that part
