gear knob light on?

my bmw 745 li 2003 gear knob light sometimes still one for long period for many hours
...unless I open it by remote and lock it again ??? is this normal???

No that vehicle should be asleep after 1 hour with no lights on. You may have something keeping the CAN bus awake like a module.
