MY BMW 525i sedan ac vents would not turn off

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

MY BMW 525i sedan ac vents would not turn off and then the ac died! I tried
changing the fuses as advised but I had to remove one of the fuses for the ac
which was the only why to make it stop, what would cause this and is it going
to be expensive to fix?  And now the window on the passage side won't go
back up ?

On a BMW, the AC defaults to on when you put Auto On. So on the climate control, press the snowflake button to turn the AC off. The center vent , you can move the middle indicator to white, not red or blue and set the temp.

Are you talking about the fan/blower? If so, the resistor probably failed. BMW calls this part the "final stage resistor". It's fairly easy to replace, and not too expensive. As far as the window, it may have either fallen off the tracks or the regulator or motor failed. You would have to remove the door panel to check it out.
