Elliot,how did you check the water pump?

One way you can check to see if it is the water pump is to Rev the motor up at about 2 or 3 grand and the temp should go down this means the teeth are wore down the more rpms the faster the water pump moves to get water where it needs to be . Does it overheat when you are still driving down the road or just when you are sitting?
