No, just keep up on maintenance so the car is running at it's top performance. Turbo's and the like cost money. What is inexpensive to you?

There's work you can do to the N52 engine to get more power, but it's not going to be a ton of power for a low price. If you want cheap power at the cost of reliability, the N54 is a fantastic platform (335i) being twin turbocharged. I recommend reading around on forums in performance sections, I'm sure owners have managed to get more power out of their N52s without going forced induction.
