what is traction control button used for?

When the wheels spin, power is reduced to the motor. In some cars, it applies the brake to the spinning wheel. The traction control button turns that function off.

More importantly, use this button to disable the traction control when you are stuck in mud/snow so you can rock the car to unstuck itself. Otherwise don't use it unless you are a stunt driver.
