Engine swap

Asked by Elliott Nov 26, 2018 at 02:49 PM about the 2004 BMW 3 Series 330Ci Coupe RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I recently got a 04 330ci and the shop that does my work said the head
gaskets are no good and no one in my area will do them so my only option is
to get a new engine for it. I found a place that has an X5 with 114,000 miles
and they said the total cost would be 2500 for the engine and all the work. I'm
wondering if this sounds like a good idea and if the same performance is the
same with a different engine?

Personally I would go online and find a top tier independent BMW shop even if I had to tow it a 100 miles or more.
