Key fob not working

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I'm facing a problem with my remote locking system. The key fob is not working while the car battery is still alive and also after changing the fob battery (CR2032) it is still inactive.
How to check the module receiver and where is it located and is it possible that the fob needs a reprogramming (if yes how to do it please)?

Thank you so much, I went to a mechanic who reprogrammed it using a specific scanner and it’s working now.

Cr2032 battery surfaces and contacts are often oxidized in FOB, I have to clean mine every 6 months, polish the battery surfaces and FOB works again. Battery should be 2.7 volts minimum to be reliable. Don't put your greasy fingers on the battery surfaces.

My Cadillac Radio light with all the info no longer works. Dealer says the radio needs replaced. They want $900.00 to replace unit .. Is there not a less expensive way? It is a 2007 Casillac CTS.
