Hello, I dont know if you guys can help me but im
trying to get a 2004 bmw 3 series that i saw on the
marketplace we’ll maintain recently replace
everything that needs with 198,000 miles on it and i
want to know if should i buy it, is gonna be my first
bmw car

Do you work on cars as a hobby, aka DIY? If not, then pass. A 2004 BMW with 198K will need work to keep it running and maybe an engine or trans in it's near future. I wouldn't pay more that $3K for it and have $5 to $10K in the bank for repairs. Maintaining an E46 will cost you $1500 to $2000 a year. Find a Ford or Toyota sedan for your first car.

I would buy a lower mile car instead.
Unless you're looking for a toy, don't buy it! This is not a vehicle you want to be dependent on to get you to work, school, or anywhere else you need to be! It's too old and has too many miles on it! I'm sure it's already a money pit which is why it's up for sale!! Keep shopping!! Hope that helps! Jim

Assuming all of those things were replaced with quality parts, I don't think mileage is any concern. These can be perfectly dependable cars IF they are mechanically sorted. If you aren't mechanically inclined, it may not be the best idea. However the M54 is a very long lasting and pretty reliable engine if properly maintained.
