Brunt smell from car

My car smells burnt after driving for a little
while, first i was thinking it could be the
brakes so i took a ride without braking and the
smell still appeared but once i stopped the car
and let it run the smell went away. Anyone
know what it could be?

I used to get his same thing with my honda Accord. I think it could be burning oil? Have you checked your oil or oil pan maybe?

I'm with GA, usually it's the valve cover gasket that leaks. Look on the passenger side of your car and look at the metal shielding over the exhaust header under the valve cover. if it is wet with oil, it's time to replace. Also look over on the driver side under the airbag and near the alternator. That's the Oil Filter housing gasket that leaks over time. Replace that too. If you car is over 100K miles and these were never changed, you are due.
