Is it worth adding extra mods?

So i just bought this used 98 BMW 323i SE from a shady part in London UK. For a fairly good priced i would have to say i got a good deal! It was only £880 which would be approximately $1350 give or take on the exchange rate. So im willing to put some extra money on it. So far driving it i havent noticed anything wrong with it. Running at 91,000 miles i would say its a pretty good number considering its a 98. The only downside to it is that is an automatic tranmission so it doesnt make any sense adding a bunch of expensice racing car mods to it. Im just wondering if you guys think it is worth adding extra feautures onto my car?

You could always spray it and when it breaks replace it with the guts from a wrecked Manual 328 or 330, or I/H/E ECU, not sure about what real bang you get for $$. They make a s/c kit good for 300+ HP / ~$6000 & then there's (more $$) holding that power...
