My cat hates the rain

Asked by Shayne Dec 21, 2015 at 11:40 PM about the 1987 BMW 3 Series 325e Sedan RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Ok. So I've asked on here a few times about this.
My bmw sputters/backfires,  idles hard,  and
refuses to accelerate in the rain. I've replaced the
rotor button,  distributor cap (sealed with liquid
gasket as well), spark plugs and wires. I've also
had a trusted "mechanic" check for a vacuum leak,
but she still does it.  At the beginning it would last
a day or two,  now she'll usually run fine to start,
then after a stop it'll start and go on for only a
block or so,  then she'll feel like she kicks into gear,
hard,  and she'll run fine.  ANY ONE HAVE ANY
MORE IDEAS AS TO WHAT'S WRONG?

Did you seal all the spark plug boots at both ends with dielectric grease?

check your grounds everywhere,, short ...its a loss of signal...

I did not, my father made no mention of having to do that. What specifically would I be looking for when looking at the grounds?

I just realized my phone corrected the title to say cat, instead of car. I mean, it is true, and if it gets people's attention.
