Why is my main relay hot

Asked by May 07, 2017 at 06:45 PM about the 1985 BMW 3 Series 325e Sedan RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

1 Answer

Keep an eye on the relay over time. It is not unusual for relays to be warm through normal use. That is why they fail over time. Turn off everything on the car and slowly check the relay as you slowly turn on different accessories. Watch the different accessories and see if any of those relays are getting hot it might be the down stream relay.
