Flooding trunk?

My trunk keeps filling with rain water. I've gotten in the trunk and had a friend run a light around the perimeter...no leaks visible. I coated the seal with vaseline and ran a hose over the trunk...no leaks. I heard it may be the "water channels" from the roof to the rear. Anyone know anything about these clogging on the E30?

Possible leaks can originate at the tail light seals, trunk seals (although it sounds like you've eliminated this), antenna grommet. Also, there are drains on the sides of the trunk (ie. under the jack and the battery) that can become clogged. Water still shouldn't be getting in, though.
Rather than shine a light, you or a friend should get in the trunk with a light, close the trunk, and one of you should spray the car with a water hose. The guy inside can watch for trickling water or the formation of wet spots. For entertainment, you can drive around with your friend in the trunk too, but that isnt as much fun the other way around. i have the same problem. last year i replaced the brake light seals and it stopped the leaking but it started leaking again this year. i guess its a quick fix
I found the culprit! The um, aerodynamic thing on the truck? I'm completely drawing a blank on what it's called. Anyhow, one of the seals under the screw that holds it down was bad. I just went to HD and bought a similar and replaced and it's good to go!
