i have a 2011 MKX. two days back check engine is on, noticed some slow acceleration. p0024, p0012, p0014 and Cylinder 6 misfire are the codes shown at Autozone. One car shop gave an estimate of 2400 for timing chain replacement saying that's the underlying issue. is that accurate analysis? my SUV has 125,000 miles

The analysis is accurate but the price is inflated by double. if you have this done change the water pump as well as it is behind the timing belt. Supply the timing belt kit, new water pump , serpentine belt and idle pulley yourself as all are removed and should be done. 2400 is what it would cost to Remove the entire engine and replace it. this job should be no more than 1000 with parts
