2011 traverse misfiring

Asked by Mike19866 Nov 22, 2020 at 06:46 PM about the 2011 Chevrolet Traverse 1LT FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2011 traverse that had a misfire and DTC codes of
p300 and p305 also had code for knock sensor one. Had a
shop replace both knock sensors and still has a misfire so i
replaced spark plugs with ac delcos and all coils and still
has a misfire and when driving it spits and sputters and
sometimes the engine light will flash. What else could be
the problem

Code p0300 refers to multiple cylinder misfire and p0305 referring to misfire on cylinder 5. As for the knock code (could also contribute to the misfire)....does the oil seem watery at all? It is possible that the head gasket were out to a position of only leaking into the cylinder.

Ok....I wonder....do you have a stethoscope? Curious about if the knock sensor is bad or if actually detecting a knock see if you can hear knocking in the heads....like bad lifters or valves not seating in it properly
