Oil fluctuating on gauge

Asked by Guru9B3WS7 Jul 06, 2021 at 08:20 AM about the 2011 Chevrolet Tahoe LTZ RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2011 Tahoe. The oil gauge fluctuates even after changing the oil
sensor and oil pump. I even had the oil and filter changed. It goes to 40 lbs at
startup but then goes to 20 lbs. once warmed up. When you stop at light or stop
sign it goes as low as 5-8 lbs.Can someone suggest my next step please.

Check your oil level and determine what viscosity oil was put in at the last oil change. The vehicle may be telling you it does nor have enough oil or what oil it has is not the recommended type or thickness (viscosity).
