My 2018 Toyota leaks water from passenger and driver side

Asked by WetToyota Sep 01, 2018 at 12:44 AM about the 2011 Toyota Camry SE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2018 Toyota leaks water from passenger and driver side all the way to back on both sides. AC is fine and sun roof which also tested, cleaned, fine but carpet gets soaking wet in the morning. Car is always in a dry heated garage. Mildew smell is beginning to appear and I am desperate and cannot afford a new car

If you actually have a 2018 Toyota it will still be under factory warranty. If you have a 2011, I would suggest to take it to a mechanic and ask him to check the a/c condensate drain to see if moisture made by the a/c is exiting the car properly. If the a/c evaporator drains is plugged up or damaged water will build up in the evaporator and overflow into the interior of the vehicle causing wet carpets especially on the passenger's side.

We have a 2018 that is out of warranty (47000 miles). Same thing. We’re sitting in the waiting room at the dealer now.

So, I do have the 2018 Camry. They had to rebuild a portion of the car. It was a defect. I haven’t had leaks since. It took over a week.

Levi here from Cornerstone Auto Solutions. There is a TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) from Toyota addressing this issue. The TSB number is T-SB-0042-18. According to the TSB the warranty covers 36k miles or 36k months (whichever comes first) under Toyota's Basic Warranty.

I have a 2018 Avalon. The car has a leak issue. I have water stain on the interior. Don't know where its coming from, even my break light has water in it. There telling me I have to pay an hourly rate to one of their technicians and that nothing is covered. I have been a Toyota Customer for over 20 years, all our cars, my wife and kids as well have always brought Toyota from the same dealership, until now. No more Toyota for us.

I have had the same issue with a 2019 Camry that was purchased a little over a month ago. It seems the evaporator plug is clogged and water is going back into the car. Will let you know the results. Thanks for your help.
