Poor Paint Job? or is this a normal Dodge thing

Asked by Guru1XTBJ Jun 11, 2023 at 04:11 PM about the 2010 Dodge RAM 1500 Sport Quad Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

we purchased a new 2014 1500ram sport quad cab in 2014.  After 8 yrs old,
the paint started flaking off in chunks from the roof. Now at 9yrs old alot more
is flaking off in bigger chunks. Mainly on the roof and around sun roof. But
now is starting to crack and flake off of rear passenger door. there is no rust
under paint flakes. Ive never seen this before and I ve owned alot of vehicles
as im 62 yrs old. Any Advice or is this my problem.  You would think paint
should last more than 9 yrs. Not Impressed

Since you bought the vehicle brand new, check your warranty booklet and see if you're still in warranty. Many manufacturers warrant the body for a long time. Hopefully you can get it fixed for free. Good luck to you with this. Jim
