VW Remote

Asked by Herman Aug 12, 2015 at 03:52 PM about the 2010 Volkswagen CC 2.0T Sport FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2010 VW CC R-Line.  When I press the lock, unlock  and trunk button  on my
key, none of the functions work.  I replaced the battery already and it still doesn't work.  I
tried using my other key and those functions still don't work.  When I insert the key in the
ignition, the car does start.  What's the problem?  Thanks

THE CAR WILL START BECAUSE the key functions for unlocking and closing are not the same as start function. the signal from remote get lost some how, have it re coded, the start work on a chip in the key. so the frequency sent by remote is not corresponding with the comp box.

I just had this issue on my 2010 CC and found the problem . There is a secondary fuse box inside the car just to the left of the steering wheel underneath a trim panel on the side of the dash next to the door. In that fuse box there are 2 different size fuses smaller ones towards the top and larger(the most common automotive fuse size) lower. On the top row of the larger fuses there are window lifter fuses. One of those fuses was burned out. Because this fuse was burned out the car would not start the cars locks wouldn't work. The trunk and fuel cap cover wouldn't open using the key fob levers on the door or pushes the VW emblem on the trunk

This happened to me after I entered the pool with the key in the pocket. To fix it, I removed the little cap from the door handle and inserted the key in it. After that, I turned the key to unlock the door and pressed the button on the remote at the same time. It was a long time ago so I'm not sure if I pressed the button first and then turned the key or vice-versa, but playing around this you should be able to get it working too. Hope this helps!
