Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2010 Avalon with 145k miles, needs a front lower ball joint.  Both control
arms I'm told  should be replaced soon. Bushings are torn The dealer wants
$1500 for entire job. They said special equipment is needed. They said the
engine must be moved and transaxle. Is this true, and is price reasonable?

No it is not a reasonable price. Stay away from the dealership after the warranty runs out. Any good independent shop should be able to do the job and then realign it.
