What tires should I buy?

I have 2010 used Avalon limited. I drive about 9k miles per yr. Was told tires
should be replaced, every 5 or 6 yrs. Should I buy top brand or mid priced
tires? I have read mixed reviews on all brands. What would be best tires for
me? Thanks

Where do you live? Do you see some snow and Ice occasionally, then all seasons are what you need. Most name brand tires are good, like Michelin, Continental, Goodyear, etc. Buy the best tires you can for your budget, it's the only thing between you and the road.

Everybody who has a car just for transportation used all season tires. The truth about tires is, you get what you pay for, somewhat, at least. Stay away from Continental; we used to race the GT4 Continental series and those tires are expensive and miserable. Pirelli tires are for cars that are meant for handling. My Bentley has Pirelli P-Zeroes. Yo can buy tires at Costco, and that might be your best bet if your concern is price: their prices are pretty good and service is as well..... A few years ago, I bought Goodyear Assurance MaxLife VSB for my wife's Mazda CX-5. The tires have an eighty-thousand mile warranty and there was a hundred dollar coupon for each tire. They have been a superior tire at an average price; don't buy the regular Assurance tire, they're not great..... Tires require regular maintenance. Look at your door jamb for the sticker that tells you about tire pressure. Fill the tires to two pounds higher. Check the tires every two thousand miles; they will likely be two pounds under recommended pressure. That's when you fill to two pounds over again. Rotate tires every four-thousand miles. Do this and your tires will last..... The TPMS system on cheaper cars isn't much; it's good for finding out you have a tire that's going flat, so don't rely on that for regular maintenance.
Plus it's true that after 5 years the rubber on the tires begins to deteriorate. You'll start to see signs of dry rot and the tires will become increasingly unsafe, especially on the highway. I'd suggest a name brand tire rated at around 50,000 miles for you. Since you drive around 9,000 miles per year too much over that and you're wasting money. Hope that helps! Jim
i was told major brands Nexen and BF Goodrich, have quality and affordable tires. But, that costly Continental Pure Contact LS, would be better, for Avalon. I will get whichever, is on sale. There are pros and cons, in all tires, I see. Thanks to all, for your help. God Bless You.
